The Ethiopian preacher, Sheikh Muhammad Ali, died today (Thursday) in Mecca, to which he immigrated from his country 40 years ago. Thousands of students were students of knowledge at the hands of the Ethiopian students in the Meccan House of Hadith, and through the lessons that he offered at the Grand Mosque in Mecca. The late Sheikh authored dozens of books, among them al-Bahr al-Thawaj in the commentary of the Sahih of Imam Muslim bin al-Hajjaj, the commentary of the millennium of al-Suyuti in the hadith, the grace of the eye in summarizing the translations of the men of the two Sahihs, and the precious essence in the systems of names and ranks of those described as fraudulent. Prominent preachers and clerics mourned the Ethiopian Sheikh, and the Imam of Quba Mosque, Dr. Suleiman Al-Rahili, described him as the author of comprehensive literature, useful audits, and interesting investigations. The former head of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, said that the late had distinguished himself by his morals and diligence, and he served knowledge and his students by teaching and writing, and he had great interest in hadith books and its sciences.
